It Was Sunny, and Deep Winter Playlist
It was sunny so I wandered down to the water where the boats are moored.
Wooden boats, plastic ones, one that looked like a lobster boat from Maine titled RECOVERY, various yachts and dinghys and Miss Rebecca, and CONSTANCE, and Pip.
I wanted to go somewhere where the sky was open, and the water was wide enough, so I could really get a bath in the sun for a while. It felt good to sit there eating a Justin’s dark chocolate almond butter cup, watching the resident kingfisher fly and catch fish. I saw a few people, but it never really seems that busy down there, just a lot of silent boats, wide gravel lots, and the 20 ton lift and all the people working inside the boats.
I guess people come near the sea to be calm.
It makes me think of and miss most of the places I’ve ever been. I guess it’s a confluence of them all, if you think about it. And today the sky and sun felt wide enough.
