How To Be
I find myself happy to walk slowly. To look at cliffs and search out pika rockslides, just to watch them. Yesterday, I stood and looked at a pine for a very long time.
I am happy to sit by this small stream, where I sit now, and watch the first snow of the year dissolve in the dark moving water. To watch ripples appear then disappear. To listen to the sound of the water. Maybe it's because I am getting older, or am more patient. Maybe I've learned what I've been trying to all along, without knowing: how to stop seeking something else than what is here. How to be.
